The 28-year-old Mexican national now in custody is the sixth suspect in the case. Authorities arrested him in Mission earlier this week.
The last suspect in an Alton murder case is behind bars. He’s expected to be arraigned later today.
The crime happened at an Alton convenience store in November 2013. Authorities said a group of men drove up to Jose Luis Gonzalez’s vehicle, boxed him in and opened fire. Gonzalez drove away but was found dead in his vehicle about a mile away.
