Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 – January 19, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. Pleshette started her career in the theater and began appearing in films in the late 1950s and later appeared in prominent films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). She later appeared in various television productions, often in guest roles, and played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, receiving several Emmy Award nominations for her work.

The creative team behind the Lord of the Rings film trilogy disliked Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer, so much that they modelled one of the movies’ orcs on him.

Weinstein, one of Hollywood’s most powerful figures before his rape conviction last year, held the initial rights to the films through his Miramax production company.

Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins, the main protagonist Peter Jackson’s films, has revealed Jackson’s dig at Weinstein by creating an orc in his likeness.
