The Mysterious Kame Of Isbister | Extreme Archaeology | Absolute History (Video)

The team travel to the Shetland Islands to visit a remote outcrop known as the Kame of Isbister that has a series of enigmatic structures. They are the first archaeological team ever to investigate the crumbling headland, and with the fast rate of erosion possibly the last. They hope to prove the settlement was either a Monastic retreat or a leper colony. Led by three fearless archaeologists, the team explores some of the toughest and most inaccessible regions to extract unique historic artifacts. Dr Alice Roberts, Katie Hirst and Dr Meg Watters will use their physical and mental guile to uncover untouched prehistoric sites.

Ready or not, here comes the mob

“We’ll keep it going until Trump concedes,” ShutDown D.C. threatens in its outline of a “No More Business As Usual” blockade across the country. “We could be in the streets throughout the fall and into the winter — maybe as lots of rolling waves of action or possibly as a few major tsunamis! In other parts of the country, as vote counts conclude, our focus will turn from protecting the vote counts to themselves being ungovernable.”

Ready or not, here they come. The ground troops of the anti-Donald Trump resistance aren’t just biding their time until Election Day for Hidin’ Joe Biden. They’re making their direct action checklists and checking them twice. They’re training for instigating.

No matter the outcome at the ballot box, the left-wing mob is prepared to disrupt and destroy nationwide in the name of preserving “democracy.”

Four weeks ago, I exposed the pot-bangers and lawn-crashers of the Sunrise Movement. That’s the constantly morphing, full-time front group for the Sierra Club that nurtures rent-a-rioters to agitate for everything from the “Green New Deal,” to Black Lives Matter and the “defund the police” movement, to the attacks at private homes of Senate Republicans — who just delivered the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Another key social justice player, ShutDown D.C., is teaming with Sunrise Movement guerilla warriors to mobilize students, community organizers and even federal employees to take to the streets on Nov. 3.

ShutDown D.C. anticipates that 10,000 protesters from a motley assortment of affinity groups will converge at Black Lives Matter Plaza to engage in “civil resistance” if President Trump tries to “steal the election.” A “Flying Bike Squad” is “coming together as a rapid response team,” according to organizers. If it’s anything like the skateboard squads and soup can squads who’ve used everyday items as weapons to beat Trump supporters, look for more blood to spill in the name of “peaceful protest.” Mass disruptions are planned at train stations and airports, on highways and in residential neighborhoods for at least the first full week after

John Laurens: Forgotten Patriot of the American Revolution (Video)

A close associate of both George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, in his short life, John Laurens was both an accomplished diplomat and soldier. The History Guy recalls the man of whom Washington said, “He had not a fault that I ever could discover.”

Brown University students want Roman statues removed because they promote ‘white supremacy’

Caesar Augustus represents ‘icon of colonial and imperial domination’

A Brown University student group, Decolonization at Brown, wants the school to remove two Roman statues displayed on campus, claiming the statues represent white supremacy and colonialism.

The student group at the Ivy League university in Rhode Island has lobbied the school’s Undergraduate Council of Students to support its initiative to remove of statues of Roman Emperors Caesar Augustus and Marcus Aurelius.

Removing the statues “is one step in a broader project of decolonization by confronting Brown’s institutional and ideological legacies of colonialism and white supremacy,” members of the group wrote in The Blognonian, a student publication at the university.

Manchester Arena Inquiry: Security ‘did not approach bomber over racism fears’

A security guard had a “bad feeling” about suicide bomber Salman Abedi but did not approach him for fear of being branded a racist, an inquiry has heard.

Kyle Lawler, who was 18 at the time of the Manchester Arena attack, was standing 10 or 15ft away from Abedi.

He later told police he was conflicted because he thought something was wrong but could not put his finger on it.

About five minutes later, at 22:31 BST on 22 May 2017, Abedi detonated a bomb packed with 3,000 nuts and bolts.

Abedi, 22, dressed all in black and carrying a large rucksack, had been reported to security by a member of the public at 22:15.

Around eight minutes before the bombing, Showsec steward Mohammed Ali Agha alerted Mr Lawler to the report and both began observing Abedi.

In his statement prepared for the inquiry, Mr Lawler said: “I just had a bad feeling about him but did not have anything to justify that.”

The witness added that Abedi was “fidgety and sweating”.
