Today I’m joined by Dr. Peter Boghossian, a philosopher and former professor known for his viral ‘Street Epistemology’ videos, his dramatic departure from Portland State University, and his role in exposing the ideological takeover of academic journals by creating fake and absurdly woke academic studies and actually getting them published. We discuss what’s going on with protests taking over universities, how we got here, and what can be done to bring education back from its abysmal state.

Dr Peter Boghossian is a writer, speaker, and podcast host. He taught philosophy at Portland State University for ten years before resigning in 2021, citing an illiberal academic atmosphere on campus. Along with James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose, he undertook the famous grievance studies hoax, which arguably demonstrated the low academic standards of some university disciplines.

“The [academic] institution wanting to protect people who have committed fraud is another level of fraud. So, that’s like another story. So, you have: plagiarism is one, entire bodies of literature that are corrupt, institutions protecting people who ‘cheated’ – there’s really no there’s no politic or polite way to say it, nor should there be. And then you have other things that we can talk about, like citation cartels, etc. But those are the three areas of corruption to me.”- Peter Boghossian
