‘If We Can’t Secure the Doors to a Congressional Office,’ How We Going to Secure the Border?: Rep. Steve King Explains How ‘Illegal Aliens’ ‘Invaded’ His Office

King continued, “mercy is always accompanied by repentance, and I saw no sign of repentance yesterday, it was a demand. That’s what we’re dealing with…if we can’t secure the doors to a congressional office building, how in the world does [Arizona Republican Sen.] John McCain and [New York Democratic Sen.] Chuck Schumer think we’re going to secure the borders?”

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Friday told Glenn Beck how his Capitol Hill office was swarmed by immigrant activists one day earlier, and asked how lawmakers expect to secure the border “if we can’t secure the doors to a congressional office building.”

King had tweeted Thursday that “20 brazen self professed illegal aliens have just invaded my DC office. Obama’s lawless order gives them de facto immunity from U.S. law.” The demonstrators, wearing graduation gowns, identified themselves on Twitter as part of United We Dream, which bills itself as the “largest immigrant youth-led network.”

“They came into the office, about 20 of them,” King told Beck on his radio program. “They filled the office, there was no room for people to come and go, they refused to leave. That went on, according to their tweets, 40 minutes. The Capitol Hill police arrived and told them to leave.”
