A new national survey has found that a majority of Americans believe President Barack Obama’s policies will fail, even though a majority actually want them to succeed.
According to a CNN/ORC poll released on Monday, 56% of Americans believe Obama’s policies are more likely to fail than succeed. Last January, only 39% thought the same. The poll also found that “58% say they hope Obama’s policies will succeed,” but that number is also down from 70% last January.
Obama’s numbers have sharply dropped after the botched Obamacare rollout. In addition, Obama could not pass amnesty and gun control legislation, largely due to conservative resistance, which forced even the White House to concede that 2013 left Obama badly “damaged” after his failures.
The survey also found that 45% of Americans approve of Obama while 50% disapprove. The poll was conducted January 31-February 2, and its margin of error is +/- three percentage points.
