Horror: 13 police officers slaughtered in daytime ambush over the border

One of the more disturbing aspects of the reported slaying were reports of the gunmen taking the bodies of the 13 killed officers, piling them atop of one another, and unloading more rounds into their lifeless bodies.

Authorities say gunmen from a drug cartel ambushed a police convoy in central Mexico on March 18th, killing eight state police officers and five prosecution investigators during the massacre.

This massive slaying of law enforcement officers in the State of Mexico serves as the country’s largest mass killing of police officers since October of 2019, when 14 state police officer were gunned down by cartel members in the Mexican state of Michoacan.

The ambush prompted a massive search for the killers in the rural, gang-infested area southwest of Mexico City, which is bordered on three sides by Mexico State. Nearby homes were also reportedly strafed with bullets from the massacre.
