In his Talking Points Memo on January 4th, Bill O’Reilly examined the causes of rising gun violence in Chicago and property crime in San Francisco, two liberal, Democrat-run cities.
He noted that murders were up 57 percent in Chicago in 2016 compared to 2015, which O’Reilly said is due to liberal politicians making it difficult for street cops and the courts to crack down on the gangs at the center of the violence epidemic.
He said that in San Francisco, on the other hand, the growing problem is property crime, with offenses like arson, car theft and larceny up a stunning 61 percent since 2010.
He said that’s because San Francisco politicians have stopped enforcing quality of life crimes, allowing homeless people to run amok.
“The situation is out of control and a disgrace, and that’s what happens when incompetent politicians demand the police stop enforcing laws,” O’Reilly said.
