Cruz: Climate Change is Not Science – it’s a Religion (Video)

“‘Denier’ is not the language of science.”

On TheBlaze TV last night, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz told Glenn Beck in an interview that “Climate change is not science – it’s religion.”

“It’s religion,” he said. “Look at the language where they call you a denier.” As “the child of two scientists,” Cruz pointed out that “’denier’ is not the language of science.” The “essence of the scientific method,” he said, is to start with an original hypothesis and then pursue evidence that disproves that hypothesis.

“Any good scientist is a skeptic,” Cruz said. “If he’s not, he or she should not be a scientist.”

Cruz has no issue with being described as a climate change skeptic. He told Beck,

“Jake Tapper asked a couple of the candidates [at the last debate], ‘Are you a climate change skeptic?’ and, for whatever reason, they were afraid to answer, ‘Yes.’ I tried to jump in. I said, ‘Jake, you want a skeptic, I’m right here.’”
