Kevin Sorbo Returns To Fantasy In CONtv’s New Series ‘Mythica’

“There’s nothing wrong with wanting to save the world, through fact or fiction,” he reflected. “The real world needs saving, especially today’s world. I think the reason all of these superhero movies work so well is that the world wants a hero. Most of the world is filled with good people who are tired of the violence, the war and the hate that has terrorized so many.”

Kevin Sorbo just keeps on saving the world. The actor, best known for portraying the title role in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, is back for a new adventure in CONtv’s new epic trilogy Mythica.

The first installment A Quest for Heroes premiered at the end of March, and Kevin – who plays the wizard Gojun, mentor to heroine Marek (Melanie Stone) as she pulls together a team of adventurers to save her endangered sister – sat down with us to talk about his latest role.

“Mythica is in the fantasy genre, like Hercules, but has more of a Lord of the Rings feel to it,” Kevin explained. “They’re both highly successful and fun to watch. There’s always an audience for these types of films; we all love to be carried away to a world that does not exist.”
