“Being frustrated is not enough, Mr. President,” O’Reilly reacted. “Once again, your administration botched it. It’s Benghazi, Libya redux. You have not held anyone accountable and that infuriates not only conservatives, but Americans who want efficient government.”
Don’t expect much compromise in Washington D.C. for the rest of President Obama’s tenure in office. Tonight in Bill O’Reilly’s Talking Points Memo, the Factor host said détente will be difficult to reach because partisan feelings are so bitter.
“The president’s a sensitive man and is furious with people attacking him personally,” O’Reilly said, citing his birth certificate as one example. “The president internalizes that, and despises those who dispense it. Therefore, he’s on a mission to destroy the hard right.”
In turn, some conservatives despise President Obama because they believe he’s harming them and the country. “Those bad feelings are reminiscent of Dallas, Texas in the run-up to President Kennedy’s assassination.”
Those bad feelings are not worse than what President George W. Bush endured. The difference? President Bush did not take the attacks personally, O’Reilly noted.
