When it comes to North America, there’s little doubt about which country dominates the continent in terms of overwhelming economic, military, and political might, the US of course. But with such unmatched power, what has stopped the United States from invading it’s neighbors? What’s stopping the US from annexing Canada or Mexico? Well both have been invaded by the US in the past, and while they may have narrowly avoided uniting into a Greater American Empire, what might have happened had the US annexed it’s southern neighbor following it’s victory in the Mexican-American War?
