The Geneva Bible was written by Protestant dissidents in Geneva, who had fled England to escape persecution by Mary, Queen of Scots. It was one of the first English Bibles translated directly from Hebrew. It was banned by King James as subversive. It’s the Bible of the Puritans and of our Founders. Because it is hard to for the lay reader to read typographically, and somewhat hard to find, Dr Wolf is reading it aloud and mentioning some differences in translation from a more widely used, modern Bible. The Geneva Bible is a gem of empowerment – later censored.
