College strips name ‘Linnaeus’ from its 125-acre arboretum, citing ‘scientific racism’

Gustavus Adolphus College argues move builds ‘an inclusive and just community’

Gustavus Adolphus College has removed the name of prominent scientist Carl Linnaeus from the title of its arboretum, citing “scientific racism” as the motivation behind the move.

The college also moved his bust, which had been displayed outside the arboretum’s Melva Lind Interpretive Center since 1988, into storage.

The Board of Trustees at the private college in Minnesota made the final decision to ax the name after pressure from activists, the college announced Oct. 12.

“Gustavus has historically sought to build an inclusive and just community. In recent years, and especially since George Floyd’s murder, we have strengthened our efforts to pay attention to underrepresented voices and discovered how painful Linnaeus’ name and legacy are for some of our students and visitors,” board Chair Scott Anderson said in the announcement.

Rafa? Ziemkiewicz believes that he is the victim of slander by leftist Polish and British activists and politicians

One of the Polish Right’s most renowned pundits, columnist and writer Rafa? Ziemkiewicz was deported from Heathrow International Airport in early October. The writer was traveling to the UK with his wife and daughter, who was starting her studies at the University of Oxford.

Interweaved by TVP Info public television news channel Ziemkiewicz listed several reasons for his deportation.

“The first issue is the activity of Polish far-Left snitches – they can’t be called anything else – who are taking out their frustrations by writing insults against Poland in the foreign press and institutions and slandering their countrymen,” he said.

“They claimed that there was a fascist regime in Poland and that the writer who just arrived from Poland is a fascist himself,” he added.

The second issue was the activity of far-Left British MP Rupa Huq.

PROOF: Video of Critical Race Theory being taught in 6th grade class in Ohio emerges

South-Western City School District Superintendent Bill Wise previously promised a parent that this wasn’t happening.

In the case of Franklin Woods Intermediate School, evidence has emerged that critical race theory ideology is being taught in the classroom. This despite the Superintendent’s previous vows to parents this wasn’t the case.

Specifically, the notion that people who aren’t radical anti-racist activists are themselves a guilty party.

A recent clip published by Mythinformed MKE shows what appears to be a 6th grade student on a cell phone covertly recording what the teacher was saying.

Denmark says ‘non-Western’ immigrants cost state 31 billion kroner

The cost to the state of immigration from countries defines as ‘non-Western’ was 31 billion kroner in 2018, according to an annual report from the Danish Ministry of Finance.

Calculated as a net cost or nettobidrag, the figure is based on state spending on public services related to immigration and welfare benefits received by immigrants.

This means that, along with spending on benefits, the costs of public services to which everyone in Denmark has access are included in the calculation.

As such, the costs per person of things like health care, child care, education and culture are factored into the calculation of what the state spends on specified groups and individuals.

Tax contributions from persons who fall into the category ‘non-Western immigrant or descendant’ are deducted from the total.

In a press release on Friday, the finance ministry said that the figure was 2 billion kroner less than in 2017, and down from 42 billion kroner in 2015. The full report can be found here.

On Friday, U.S. oil prices hit a seven-year high amid a surge in global demand and a supply crunch induced by OPEC. West Texas Intermediate crude, the U.S. oil benchmark, climbed to $82 a barrel. Gas prices followed… Oil is at its highest price since OPEC launched its price war against U.S. shale producers.

“Extraordinary, isn’t it? I’ve been hearing all about COP,” said the queen to the duchess of Cornwall. “Still don’t know who is coming. … We only know about people who are not coming. … It’s really irritating when they talk but they don’t do.”

Queen Elizabeth II was expressing her exasperation at the possible number of no-shows at the U.K.’s coming climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland.

Among the absentees may be Chinese President Xi Jinping, whose country generates more carbon dioxide than the U.S. and EU combined.

Behind the queen’s exasperation, however, lies a political reality.
