Dozens of Women Raped in Dig, Ogaden

Reports reaching the Ogaden Online service desk from the town of Dig, which is part of Degahbour cofirm a rape spree that was spearheaded by the Ethiopian Military and its associated militias deployed in that area.

Our local reporters have confirmed one such incident where Ethiopian military gang raped almost the entire female population of the city, including pregnant women and nursing mothers. These gang rape incidents, although not new, appear coordinated. This gruesome incident took place on June 10, 2012.

It is reported that the health of the raped Women are deteriorating since they have almost bled to death due to the injuries caused by the gang rape.

The Ethiopian army personnel, many of whom are infected with AIDS carryout gang rapes not only to intentionally spread the virus but also to instill unparalleled fear into the civilian population especially the nomads in Ogaden.
