Fast-food worker stabs patron over order, deputies say

A botched order led to a confrontation in a Valle Vista Del Taco in the early morning hours that resulted in an employee stabbing a customer outside the restaurant, Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Gabriel Joseph Villalba, 26, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the department and jail booking records.

The customer’s injury was described as serious but not life-threatening.

The incident took place shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, June 21, in the 41800 block of East Florida Avenue, east of Hemet. The restaurant’s dining room closes at midnight but the drive-through is open 24 hours a day.
