Two women busted for election fraud in Miami-Dade

The Miami-Dade state attorney’s office plans to accuse Tomika Curgil, 33, of filling out forms for five people without their consent. She also submitted at least 17 forms for people who apparently don’t exist — and several forms for people who are dead.

A 74-year-old woman tasked with opening envelopes sent by Miami-Dade County voters with their completed mail ballots was arrested Friday after co-workers caught her illegally marking ballots, resulting in an unknown — but small — number of fraudulent votes being cast for mayoral candidate Raquel Regalado.

Investigators linked Gladys Coego, a temporary worker for the county elections department, to two fraudulent votes, but they suspect from witness testimony that she submitted several more.

Coego, of Westchester, turned herself in to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Friday morning. She was charged with two felony counts of marking another person’s ballot. Coego was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

In a separate election-fraud case, authorities also arrested a second woman Friday on charges of unlawfully filling out voter-registration forms on behalf of United for Care, the campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Florida.

The Miami-Dade state attorney’s office accused Tomika Curgil, 33, of filling out forms for five people without their consent. She also submitted at least 15 forms for people who apparently don’t exist — and several forms for people who are dead.

Teacher Who Alleged He Was Not Hired Because He Is White Settles for $145K

A teacher who sued a New Jersey school district for racial discrimination, alleging he was not hired because he is white, settled out of court for $145,000.

Penns Grove-Carneys Point Superintendent Joseph Massare and Field Elementary School Principal Mary Kwiatkowski both recommended Brian Shields for a job in the district in the summer of 2013, then allegedly told Shields that he was not hired because he was white, NJ Advance Media reported.

A board of education meeting was supposed to approve the hire, until several people attending the meeting accused board members of “not hiring enough minorities at the school,” according to the suit.

The board ultimately rejected the recommendation to hire Shields, even after the superintendent said that a few minorities were recently hired at the school, the suit said.

Shields said Massare told him before the meeting that the board always approves recommendations, but told him after the meeting that he was not hired because of his race.

Shields will receive $83,778.21, and his attorney will receive $61,229.79, NJ Advance Media reported.

Video: ‘Hillary’s America’ is already here

And it’s spreading rapidly across the U.S.

They call it “culture shift.” Places, in America, that no longer look or feel like America.

Cedar Riverside in Minneapolis fits the bill, with its large Somali community known as “Little Mogadishu,” as does and Hamtramck, Michigan, where the Islamic call to prayer is shouted over loudspeakers and the local city council is now majority-Muslim.

Parts of Amarillo, Texas, have been flooded with so many Muslim refugees that some ethnic enclaves claim to have elected their own tribal leaders independent of the city government, the city’s mayor recently testified before the Texas Legislature.

Then there is Dearborn, Michigan, which is now 40 percent Muslim and spilling over into neighboring cities and towns.

Documentary filmmaker Dennis Michael Lynch recently drove through Dearborn, guided by a lifelong resident of the city named Brian. What Brian showed him was not just a culture shift but something closer to a shock.

Women walk the streets dressed in long, black burqas that cover all but their eyes. Almost all the signs on storefronts are in Arabic or some other Middle Eastern dialect.

A presidency from hell? by Pat Buchanan

Clinton would take office with 2/3 of nation believing she is untruthful.

Should Donald Trump surge from behind to win, he would likely bring in with him both houses of Congress.

Much of his agenda – tax cuts, deregulation, border security, deportation of criminals here illegally, repeal of Obamacare, appointing justices like Scalia, unleashing the energy industry – could be readily enacted.

On new trade treaties with China and Mexico, Trump might need economic nationalists in Bernie Sanders’ party to stand with him, as free-trade Republicans stood by their K-Street contributors.

Still, compatible agendas and GOP self-interest could transcend personal animosities and make for a successful four years.

But consider what a Hillary Clinton presidency would be like.

She would enter office as the least-admired president in history, without a vision or a mandate. She would take office with two-thirds of the nation believing she is untruthful and untrustworthy.

Reports of poor health and lack of stamina may be exaggerated. Yet she moves like a woman her age. Unlike Ronald Reagan, her husband, Bill, and President Obama, she is not a natural political athlete and lacks the personal and rhetorical skills to move people to action.

The President Who Has Done the Most Damage by Dennis Prager

Virtually nothing Barack Obama has done has left America or the world better since he became president. Nearly everything he has touched has been made worse.

I have been broadcasting for 31 years and writing for longer than that. I do not recall ever saying on radio or in print that a president is doing lasting damage to our country. I did not like the presidencies of Jimmy Carter (the last Democrat I voted for) or Bill Clinton. Nor did I care for the “compassionate conservatism” of George W. Bush. In modern political parlance “compassionate” is a euphemism for ever-expanding government.

But I have never written or broadcast that our country was being seriously damaged by a president. So it is with great sadness that I write that President Barack Obama has done and continues to do major damage to America. The only question is whether this can ever be undone.

This is equally true domestically and internationally.

Domestically, his policies have gravely impacted the American economy.

He has overseen the weakest recovery from a recession in modern American history.

He has mired the country in unprecedented levels of debt: about $6.5 trillion dollars in five years (this after calling his predecessor “unpatriotic” for adding nearly $5 trillion in eight years).

He has fashioned a country in which more Americans now receive government aid — means-tested, let alone non-means tested — than work full-time.

Camille Paglia: Hillary is ‘a Disaster!’

“It’s an outrage how she’s played the gender card. She is a woman without accomplishment.”

In an interview with the UK Spectator today, iconoclastic feminist academic Camille Paglia unleashes her refreshingly fearless takes on today’s coddled feminists, the unaccomplished Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump as “amazing moment of change.”

“My philosophy of feminism,” Paglia says, “I call street-smart Amazon feminism. I’m from an immigrant family. The way I was brought up was: the world is a dangerous place; you must learn to defend yourself. You can’t be a fool. You have to stay alert.”

Instead, she asserts, middle-class girls today are being raised in just the opposite fashion: coddled, indulged and protected in safe spaces from reality, today’s young feminists embrace victimhood and powerlessness rather than independence:

“We are rocketing backwards here to the Victorian period with this belief that women are not capable of making decisions on their own. This is not feminism — which is to achieve independent thought and action. There will never be equality of the sexes if we think that women are so handicapped they can’t look after themselves.”

Texas Tech Students Don’t Know Much About History

These Texas Tech students interviewed by the Politically Challenged YouTube Channel are definitely mentally challenged when it comes to some basic United States history questions.

It’s sad to think that these mental giants are old enough to vote and know more about Hollywood celebrities than their own country. Joe Biden shouldn’t feel bad about about losing out to the likes of Angelina Jolie in their limited database of knowledge as he’s still got a chance to become famous in 2016. I hope these kids are paying for their own “higher education”.

Texas county switches to ’emergency paper ballots’

After ‘glitches’ reported with election software.

A county in Texas has switched to “emergency paper ballots” after electronic voting machines in the region suffered technical glitches.

Chambers County Clerk Heather Hawthorne issued a press release Tuesday night announcing electronic voting would be suspended until the glitches affecting voting machines could be corrected.

“The Straight Party vote for both the Republicans and Democrats did not automatically select one race on each ballot,” states the press release.

Putin: ‘There’s a reason’ Donald Trump ‘behaves extravagantly’

Trump “behaves extravagantly of course, we see this, but I think there’s a reason for this. He represents part of US society that’s tired of having the elite in power for decades,” Putin said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told a group of foreign policy experts in southern Russia on Thursday that Donald Trump’s “extravagant behavior” is just his way of getting his message across to voters.

“He has chosen a method to get through to voters’ hearts,” Putin said at the annual meeting of the the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi, Russia.

Trump “behaves extravagantly of course, we see this, but I think there’s a reason for this. He represents part of US society that’s tired of having the elite in power for decades,” Putin said.

Putin said the mainstream US media claim he supports Trump over Hillary Clinton is “nonsense,” but that Russia “welcomes statements that US-Russian relations should be improved from anyone.” The US intelligence community has accused the Russian government of being behind hacks of Democratic organizations’ emails, a charge Russia has denied.

Putin and Clinton, the Democratic nominee, have a history of mutual distrust. It stems from Clinton’s claim in 2011 that Russia’s elections that year were fraudulent — which Putin said “set the tone for certain actors inside the country” to protest — and her support for a military intervention in Libya to oust Moammar Gadhafi, which he said was done “without court or investigation.”

Lessons From the Highway of Death by Victor Davis Hanson

The 99 has become a neglected, poor person’s highway. California has far more residents receiving welfare than any other state, and it has among the highest poverty rates in the nation. Most of the state’s poorest counties are bisected by the 99. About a quarter of California’s inhabitants were not born in the United States. Many are still not U.S. citizens. The result is a perfect storm that blows in daily over the 99.

California State Route 99 is the north-south highway that cuts through the great Central Valley. And it has changed little since the mid-1960s.

A half-century ago, when the state population was about 18 million — not nearly 40 million as it is today — the 99 used to be a high-speed, four-lane marvel. It was a crown jewel in California’s cutting-edge freeway system.

Not now.

The 99 was recently ranked by ValuePenguin (a private consumer research organization) as the deadliest major highway in the nation. Locals who live along its 400-plus miles often go to bed after seeing lurid TV news reports of nocturnal multi-car accidents. Then they wake up to Central Valley radio accounts of morning carnage on the 99.

The 99 is undergoing a $1 billion, multi-decade upgrade to increase its four lanes to six. Promises have been made to build off- and on-ramps in place of haphazard exits and entries from the old days of cross traffic.
