Newly released records accuse a 26-year-old man of having sex with many young girls and impregnating at least one of his victims.
The records also show how easily Anthony Martinez was able to meet potential victims online, trolling through Facebook for girls in the area, and then striking up conversations that he would later move to Snapchat or to text.
Investigators believe Martinez may have victimized as many as 140 girls in Colorado and five other states.
According to an arrest affidavit released on Thursday, a 17-year-old girl, who is now in Florida, told investigators she was 12 years old and living in Colorado Springs when she met Martinez.
The girl said they first met through Facebook, and once they developed a relationship, he would pick her up from Sabin Middle School and take her to his home to have sex.
While they were having sex, he wanted her to say she was 7 years old, the girl told investigators.
The girl said she became pregnant with Martinez’s baby when she was 14, and their daughter is now almost 3 years old.
Even though in Facebook messages he asks the alleged victim “how is my baby doing?” and asks her to send pictures of the toddler, Martinez denied fathering the child, telling investigators, “You can call her my daughter but, I mean, we still haven’t gotten the DNA test.”
