Gruber, Tavenner Called By Issa To Testify On Obamacare

Issa said in a statement Friday: “The American people deserve honesty, transparency, and respect from those who forced the federal government into their healthcare. I expect Mr. Gruber and Administrator Tavenner to testify publicly next month about the arrogance and deceptions surrounding the passage and implementation of ObamaCare.”

On Thursday, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-California) asked MIT professor *and architect of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) Jonathan Gruber and Administrator of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Marilyn Tavenner to testify next month at a hearing “related to the transparency failures related to the implementation of the [ACA].”

Issa said in a statement Friday: “The American people deserve honesty, transparency, and respect from those who forced the federal government into their healthcare. I expect Mr. Gruber and Administrator Tavenner to testify publicly next month about the arrogance and deceptions surrounding the passage and implementation of ObamaCare.”

An email obtained by Fox News earlier this week showed that Tavenner wanted Healthcare.gov to launch October 1, 2013 “no matter what,” despite the flaws that would soon follow with the website. Former CMS Chief Operating Officer Michelle Snyder wrote about Tavenner:

“Just so you know [Tavenner] decided in January we were going no matter what… Hence the really cruel and uncaring march that has occurred since January when she threatened me with a demotion or forced retirement if I didn’t take this on.”

Snyder left her post at the end of 2013.
