Ted Nugent slams Pure Michigan campaign, says state has become suburb of Illinois and San Francisco

“Jennifer Granholm, Mayor Coleman Young and Kwame should all be in jail, as far as I’m concerned. They really destroyed the work ethic and brainwashed too many Michiganiacs to be takers instead of producers.”

Ted Nugent slammed the state of Michigan’s “Pure Michigan” advertising campaign for not promoting what he sees as the state’s biggest tourist attractions during a radio interview on Thursday morning, April 25.

During an interview on the syndicated Lansing-based radio show “Michigan’s Big Show starring Michael Patrick Sheils,” Nugent condemned Pure Michigan for not promoting hunting and fishing.

Nugent’s comments were first reported by Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press.

Nugent, a native of Detroit and former resident of Jackson County, also went on to rip former Gov. Jennifer Granholm, longtime Detroit Mayor Coleman Young, who died in 1997, and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
