Probe Into Communism in Hollywood Continues – Painesville Telegraph, Oct. 24, 1947

Mrs. Lola Rogers, mother and business manager of Film Star Ginger Rogers, testified today that Hollywood Communists infiltrated “our unions, our scripts, and our productions.”

Mrs. Rogers told the House Unamerican Activities Committee that she and others long ago formed an association to wage war on Communism in the movie capitol because “there was a definite need” for such a campaign.

Also called to appear after Mrs. Rogers in the fith day of the Communism – in – Hollywood investigation were Film Cartoon Producer Walt Disney, Roy E. Brewer, and Oliver Carlson, a labor relations counsel.

Mrs. Rogers described her occupation as “manager of my daughter’s affairs and a writer of sorts.” She formerly was assistant to the late Charles Koerner, president of RKO. She is a native of Council Bluffs, IN.
