Archaeologists excavate Must Farm in Cambridge, described as the “Pompeii of the Bronze Age,” providing insights into prehistoric life over 3,000 years ago. Discovered on the edge of a quarry near Peterborough in 1999, the impeccably preserved settlement appears to have been abandoned and burned down very suddenly around 900 BC. Ancient causeways and metalwork, including swords and spears, suggest a thriving industry and possible ritual offerings.
