Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced this week that the department will expand their network of international visa application centres into West Africa in order to assist local Canadian visa applicants.
Canada’s immigration department will open six new Canadian visa application centres (VAC) on 16 December. The new centres will be located in:
Lagos, Nigeria
Bamako, Mali
Niamey, Niger
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire
Dakar, Senegal
Yaounde, Cameroon
After these new centres,open there will be Canadian visa application centres in 41 countries around the world including in China, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and the Philippines.
“VACs are an example of the Government of Canada’s commitment to improve service to applicants and processing efficiency,” said Immigration minister Kenney. “This means applicants no longer have to spend time and money travelling to a visa office if they choose to use a VAC closer to their home.”
