Terror survivor’s call for open speech on extremism

Bjorn Ihler read Anders Breivik’s book only a week after jumping into lake Tyrifjorden in Norway to escape the terrorist’s bullets.

Bjorn was one of the survivors on Utoya island where Breivik killed 77 people in July 2011.

What Bjorn found in the far-right “manifesto” surprised him.

“His worldview was not purely driven by hatred,” he says. “It was much more about fear of what was happening to his society.

“This was a guy who grew up in the same city as me, we had similar backgrounds, we went to similar schools, but he saw the world in a completely different way.”

Since this experience, 26-year-old Bjorn devoted his life to trying to keep other young people from following a similar path to Breivik.

Why hatred of whites is here to stay

Ilana Mercer explains significance of South Africa’s toleration of racist torture, murder.

Not so long ago, mere mention of the deliberate murder of whites in South Africa – country folk and commercial farmers, in particular – was called “racist.” “Raaacist!” the media collective brayed when candidate Trump retweeted a related “white genocide” hashtag.

It’s still “racist” to suggest that the butchering of these whites, almost daily, in ways that beggar belief, is racially motivated. Positively scandalous is it to describe the ultimate goal of a killing spree, now in its third decade, thus: the ethnic cleansing of whites farming South Africa from land the community has cultivated since the 1600s.

Be thankful for small mercies: At least the international media monopoly is finally reporting facts, such as that just the other day Andre and Lydia Saaiman, age 70, were hacked to death in Port Elizabeth. (Imagine being chopped up until you expire.)

Or, that the elderly Bokkie Potgieter was dealt a similar fate as he tended his small, KwaZulu-Natal holding. Potgeiter was butchered during the October “Black Monday” protest, which was a nationwide demonstration to end the carnage. Internationally reported as well were the facts of Sue Howarth’s death. The 64-year-old pharmaceutical executive was tortured for hours with … a blowtorch.

Donna Brazile: Clinton Campaign ‘Was a Cult’ (Video)

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” former Democratic National Committee interim chairwoman Donna Brazile called Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign “a cult.”

SCARBOROUGH: Bottom line it for us. Why did they lose? Was it, at the end of the day, arrogance?

BRAZILE: Yes, Joe. It was a cult, I felt like it was a cult. You could not penetrate them. I mean, I — look, you can — I’m a grassroot organizer. I know street politics better than I know suite politics. I know how to touch people where they live, work, pray, and play. But I cannot help a candidate, Joe, if I don’t have the resources, if I cannot spend the resources that the party is raising because there’s a blind agreement between —

BRZEZINSKI: Exactly—

BRAZILE: A campaign—

BRZEZINSKI: Unspoken even—

BRAZILE: And, again, I want my party to come back from this stronger. I like what Tom Perez is doing. I know he said this is not about my book. Baby, I know it’s not about my book. But it’s about making much-needed changes and reform inside the party. I’ve sat at the table. I want to make room for others to sit at the table, but you have to come into the room knowing you have to change the recipe. Yesterday was a wake-up call for the Democrats, too. Because you know what? It’s coming from the bottom up. It’s not top-down anymore. It’s bottom-up politics now.

Black student at Air Force Academy is found to be behind the racist messages that appeared on dorm boards saying ‘go home n******’

One of the five black students targeted by the slurs at the US Air Force Academy in September was actually responsible for the incident. Officials revealed Tuesday that the student admitted to writing the messages. Student is no longer at the school in Colorado Springs but it is not clear if the cadet was expelled or withdrew. The incident attracted nationwide attention after the academy’s superintendent gave a speech warning students that racists were not welcome at the school.

One of the black students targeted by racial slurs that were written outside dorm rooms at the US Air Force Academy was actually responsible for the incident, officials say.

Academy officials revealed on Tuesday that the cadet admitted to writing ‘go home n******’ on a whiteboard outside the dorm rooms of five black students at the Colorado Springs campus.

The student is no longer at the school but a spokesman refused to say whether the cadet withdrew or was expelled.

The cadet’s name has not been released.

The incident attracted nationwide attention in September after the academy’s superintendent gave a scathing speech warning students that racists were not welcome at the school.

In a statement on Tuesday, the academy said: ‘We can confirm that one of the cadet candidates who was allegedly targeted by racist remarks written outside of their dorm room was actually responsible for the act.

‘The individual admitted responsibility and this was validated by the investigation.

Democrat Doug Schoen: ‘My Party Is Rotten to the Core’ (Video)

Between this, the Uranium One deal, and other scandals surrounding the Clintons, Schoen says “we need a special counsel to look at Secretary Clinton and her campaign and her activities as we are Donald Trump. We need to clean up our system.”

During an appearance on “Hannity” Friday, Democrat and political analyst Doug Schoen said his Party is “rotten to the core.”

This was in response to last week’s revelations of a funding agreement between 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee that may have tipped the scales in Clinton’s favor.

Schoen had once worked for the Clintons over the years.

Jerry Brown and the state Democrats’ legacy is crime and homelessness

Mass release of criminals combined with the decriminalization of petty crime has led to encampments full of the desperate and dangerous. This mess is so bad that the Santa Ana River is now known by local residents as “Skid River.”

There’s not much the state of California does efficiently. If you need to get your license plates in the mail, want your tax refund, or God forbid need Sacramento to fix a clerical error, you need the patience of a saint — the bureaucrats will do things in their own sweet time, whether you like it or not.

But when it comes to the wholesale emptying of the prisons, they’re Johnny-on-the-spot.

Whether it’s Assembly Bill 109, Proposition 47 or Proposition 57, Gov. Jerry Brown and the Democrat-controlled state Legislature seemingly can’t put violent criminals on the streets fast enough.

Just think of them as being the O.J. Simpson jury with term limits.

Recently, I wrote a column about Senate Bill 620 — which would strip mandatory sentencing enhancements for criminals convicted of committing a felony with a gun — and noted that legislation like this has resulted in a ballooning crime rate and homeless population.

I made this claim based on various conversations I’ve had with local law enforcement, city officials and litigators, but was having a tough time finding hard data.

And as it turns out, I’m not the only one.

Communism’s Bloody Century

In the 100 years since Lenin’s coup in Russia, the ideology devoted to abolishing markets and private property has left a long, murderous trail of destruction.

A century ago this week, communism took over the Russian empire, the world’s largest state at the time. Leftist movements of various sorts had been common in European politics long before the revolution of Oct. 25, 1917 (which became Nov. 7 in the reformed Russian calendar), but Vladimir Lenin and his Bolsheviks were different. They were not merely fanatical in their convictions but flexible in their tactics—and fortunate in their opponents.

Communism entered history as a ferocious yet idealistic condemnation of capitalism, promising a better world. Its adherents, like others on the left, blamed capitalism for the miserable conditions that afflicted peasants and workers alike and for the prevalence of indentured and child labor. Communists saw the slaughter of World War I as a direct result of the rapacious competition among the great powers for overseas markets.

But a century of communism in power—with holdouts even now in Cuba, North Korea and China—has made clear the human cost of a political program bent on overthrowing capitalism. Again and again, the effort to eliminate markets and private property has brought about the deaths of an astounding number of people. Since 1917—in the Soviet Union, China, Mongolia, Eastern Europe, Indochina, Africa, Afghanistan and parts of Latin America—communism has claimed at least 65 million lives, according to the painstaking research of demographers.

Police reveal what could be a possible motive in the Las Vegas shooting

“Since September 2015, he’s lost a significant amount of wealth, and I think that might have been a determining factor on what he was determined to do,” Lombardo added.

According to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Stephen Paddock — the man responsible for the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. — was a “status-driven,” high-rolling gambler who had been steadily losing money for two years.

In a wide-ranging interview with KLAS-TV in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Lombardo revealed that Paddock may have seen his image declining.

What does this have to do with a motive?

“He was going through some bouts of depression. But he was status-driven,” Lombardo told KLAS in the interview, which was given in an attempt to clarify the murkiness surrounding the October shooting.

L.A. Marches Against Trump — Where’s the March Against Sexual Abuse in Hollywood?

Tens of thousands of protesters are expected to gather in downtown Los Angeles and around the country Saturday for a march against President Donald Trump. But there has yet to be any kind of public demonstration against sexual harassment and sexual assault in Hollywood, several weeks into a scandal that has implicated some of L.A.’s most powerful personalities — many of whom are also among the Democratic Party’s biggest backers.

Ironically, Hollywood has made way for the anti-Trump protest, with local authorities suspending film production in downtown L.A. for two days as police focus on the demonstration, according to Deadline.

The demonstrations in L.A. and nationwide are being organized by a group called Refuse Fascism, which is loosely aligned with Antifa. Refuse Fascism has defended Antifa’s use of violence, calling it self-defense against violence from the far right.

In a blog post last week justifying Saturday’s protest, RefuseFascism.org proclaimed: “We are right to do this. For the survival of millions of people around the world, we must do this. For the rights of women to determine the course of their own lives, we must do this. For a future on this planet for all of our children, we must do this.”

And yet nothing is being done to protest on behalf of women, and even children, victimized by Hollywood superstars.

The leftists marching in Los Angeles have not marched against Hollywood studio heads, “A-list” stars, and media companies who are among 63 accused of misconduct thus far.

They have not marched against Harvey Weinstein, against whom a New York Police Department detective reportedly says there is enough evidence for an arrest.
