Ex-SF Mayor Willie Brown: Nancy Pelosi, Dems Fell for Trump’s Identity Politics Trap

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown believes House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) played right into President Donald Trump’s hands when she called for the removal of Confederate statues in Congress, which is an issue she apparently was not concerned about when she was Speaker and Democrats controlled all three branches of government.

The legendary California Democrat–who amazingly has become even more interesting, candid, compelling, and outspoken than he already was in his must-read weekly San Francisco Chronicle column–noted that “every time President Trump gets in trouble he falls back on race identity politics, and the Democrats fall for it without fail.”

Of course, that is exactly what Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told the American Prospect‘s Robert Kuttner last week.

“The Democrats,” Bannon said, “the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”

Brown points out that Democrats like Pelosi took the bait when Trump asked whether statues of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington would come down next.

“Let’s be clear, those Confederate statues are coming down, no matter what Trump says. That’s been going on for a while now. It’s largely being done at the local level, and Democrats could just sit back and let the arc of history take its course,” Brown writes.

‘Trump Must Hang’ Prof Doubles Down On Inflammatory Tweets

“Justice = the execution of two Republicans for each deported immigrant.”

A California State University, Fresno professor doubled down on inflammatory tweets like “Trump must hang” in an interview released Sunday.

Lars Maischak, a history lecturer at Fresno State, tweeted “Trump must hang,” “Has anyone started soliciting money and design drafts for a monument honoring the Trump assassin, yet?” and other remarks, The Daily Caller News Foundation reported in April. The university banned Maischak from campus, but the professor still insists that his remarks were taken out of context, according to YourCentralValley.com.

Maischak claimed that he was not trying to incite violence, and alleged that the media misrepresented his remarks.

“It is only in the processing by the propaganda outlets on the web who make it a sport, who make it a business out of finding professors, actors, journalists and so forth and harass them by inciting an online lynch mob that this became a [controversy] to people,” Maischak said.

Trump-Endorsed Immigration Bill Would Save Taxpayers Trillions

Each legal immigrant w/ less than a H.S. degree costs taxpayers $476k. We’re subsidizing the rich’s “cheap labor.”

Earlier this month, President Donald Trump endorsed the RAISE (Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment) Act introduced by Sens. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and David Perdue, R-Ga., a bill to reform the merit-based immigration system and limit low-skill immigration.

Low-skill immigration is very costly to U.S. taxpayers. For example, a legal immigrant without a high school degree typically receives $4 in government benefits for every $1 he pays in taxes.

By limiting future low-skill immigration, the RAISE Act has the potential to save U.S. taxpayers trillions of dollars in future years.

There are 12.8 million low-skill legal immigrants with a high school degree or less currently residing in the U.S. The households headed by these low-skill legal immigrants impose a net fiscal cost (total government benefits received minus total taxes paid) of $150 billion each year.

The $150 billion tax burden is equivalent to a $1.04 tax on every gallon of gas purchased by U.S. motorists every year for the foreseeable future.

Scott Baio Calls Republicans ‘Worthless’ During Appearance on Tony Katz Today

Just once I want the Republican party to shut up … back the President [and] stop going after him on every single thing that he does.

Outspoken conservative and former star of “Happy Days,” Scott Baio is fed up with congressional Republicans, calling them ‘worthless’ and emphatically stating it’s time for the GOP to put aside personal politics and stand behind President Trump for the good of the country.

In an interview with WIBC host Tony Katz, Baio was especially critical of Republicans’ epic failure on ‘repeal and replace.’

Baio:

I don’t know how votes and how many bills the house has passed to repeal Obamacare, [but] they were all just a ruse to get votes. And I just personally believe that the Republican party and the Democrat party are one in the same.

…Paul Ryan, he’s just a RINO to me, so is Mitch McConnell. [And] I truly believe that the reason they don’t want to help President Trump is because if he succeeds, they all look like fools. So why would you want to help that guy? As opposed to saying, ‘Hey, this guy just gave us the House and the Senate, and we have so much power now. Let’s use it to show that Conservatism works.’ [But] they just can’t seem to get out of their own way. They don’t want [Trump] to succeed; they don’t like him.

Frank Stallone on What It’s Like to Hang Out with Donald Trump

The musician talks to LifeZette about his career, his passion for life — and the late-night host who is a ‘disgrace’

Frank Stallone is “living the dream” at 67 years old. The man behind the Golden Globe-nominated song “Far from Over” is still putting his heart and soul into his music, performing live shows regularly and “plucking away” at instruments lying around his California home.

It must be something in the genes: Frank Stallone’s brother, Sylvester, is still starring in action movies at 71 years old, and their mother, at age 96, is still driving, working out, and learning social media platforms like Instagram.

“How many guys can sit back and say after 52 years, they’re out there, still playing and doing well?” Stallone told LifeZette in a telephone interview. “You’re still learning as you go along.”

Age has certainly not slowed down his passion. “I haven’t lost that desire,” he said about the creative process — and added with a laugh, “I just don’t like carrying my own equipment anymore.”

Trump adviser fired over memo warning of globalist-Islamist ‘deep state’

McMaster axes key Bannon allies amid accusation of ‘Maoist insurgency’ against Trump.

A Trump adviser who advocated for declaring the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization and warned of a globalist “deep state” working to undermine the Trump agenda has been axed by the president’s top national security chief, H.R. McMaster.

But the fired adviser, Rich Higgans, is only the latest chip to fall in an ongoing “purge” of “America-first” stalwarts from the National Security Council.

The idea that an alliance of Obama holdovers consisting of globalists and Islamists are working inside the government as part of a “deep state” effort to destroy the Trump presidency has been a common theme put forth by outside analysts trying to explain the intrigue behind Trump’s first six months in the White House.

But the idea apparently was not confined to outsiders. Higgins, a high-level official inside the president’s National Security Council, sent a memo up the chain of command in May, warning of just such a plot. Higgins’ memo caught the eye of McMaster and cost him his job.

According to a report Wednesday by the Atlantic, McMaster removed Higgins from his post as director of strategic planning on July 21 after reading the memo, which was considered too “conspiratorial.”
