hile covering the race riots in Baltimore, some journalists found themselves on the other side of the violence after protests turned violent following the funeral of Freddie Gray.
The journalists said they were attacked by the rioters, with one claiming the police did not “really help” afterward.

A reporter for the Baltimore Sun, Carrie Wells, tweeted out that one of the papers photographers, Chris Assaf, was attacked by a group of rioters.
Wells says the group then ran after Assaf, tackled him to the ground and beat him while he was lying helpless. And Wells says police “didn’t really help.”
