U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara wants you to imagine a world without Dinesh D’Souza — at least for a year or so.
Bharara is requesting a 16-month prison sentence for the anti-Obama filmmaker, who pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance law.
In a recommendation sent to U.S. District Judge Richard Berman, the prosecution balks at D’Souza’s lawyer, who requested only probation and community service for his client who is now “disgraced and humiliated.”
But the government jeered at the so-called repentance, saying D’Souza hasn’t taken responsibility for his crime and still brands himself a victim of unfair prosecution for his dislike of the Obama administration.
