Nick Griffin MEP is pushing for the newly formed Alliance of European Nationalist Movements to take concrete steps to present nationalist MEPs and their parties in a more positive light. “Despite decades of systematic dehumanisation and vilification,” says Nick, “public sympathy for nationalists is growing all over Europe.
“Our job is to speed that process up and I am convinced that the Internet and technological advances which have brought broadcast quality video footage within our reach is the key to doing so.
“That’s why I’m working with a small video team on experiments in ‘humanising’ videos. To help the process along, I would greatly appreciate feedback on one such short production. As you’ll see, rather than talking hardcore politics and about problems, problems, problems, this video takes a much softer approach.
“Obviously such things wouldn’t replace our addressing the real tough issues facing our people head on. We’ve always done that and will continue to do so, but I would like to know what viewers think of this as an additional weapon in our armoury.
“Once we find the right formula, I’ll encourage our colleagues in the Alliance to take note. We’ve got just over two years to give the AENM an identity and image which will give it a fighting chance of winning seats on the new pan-European party list ballot, so we can’t hang around. I’ll be reading your comments here with great interest over the next couple of days. Many thanks for your help.”
